Chapters

Concrete: "Next Best." Concrete wrestles with his feelings for Maureen and a growing sense of isolation. Unable to coax Maureen or Larry into spending the day with him, Concrete occupies some time answering letters - though he's taken aback by a favour that is asked of him.

The Portheus Principle: A physicist creates a portal to the Earth's past while working on another problem. The portal seems stable and he ventures through to spend a day recording observations of the Cretaceous world. As he returns to the portal, he sees two dinosaurs pass through the portal, collapsing it. He's trapped in a perilous past while the dinosaurs carry a plague with them back to the present.

Masque: Doug takes Albert Montoya to a Monday night Football game. Feeling out of place, Albert decides to return home on his own. The C.I.A. agents are still looking to question Albert and try to grab their chance when they see him alone.
